Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre

Spiro and Julia Koulouris, owners of Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre in Wethersfield, have done more than just bring new life to an historic building. They’ve created a hip and comfortable gathering spot that’s quickly become a local favorite for coffee, fresh and healthy dining, groceries, and local products.

They offer a “seed to table” menu, including hand crafted sandwiches, paninis, salads and house made soups, some of which are GF. All breakfast and lunch sandwiches are available on GF english muffins or bread, and they bake fresh muffins and pastries every morning. Their GF and vegan banana oat muffins are both beautiful AND delicious! They also make pies in GF crusts, and, if you call ahead, they can make GF quiche in these crusts as well. The facility is not dedicated gluten free, but while we were there, we chatted with a celiac customer who said that she’s had only good experiences there. We like that. And, If you love local, like we do, the market carries loads of products, from raw milk to maple syrup and soaps. But don’t forget the seeds! They’ve got a garden center which carries Baker Creek’s heirloom seeds and gardening supplies.

So whether you live in Wethersfield or not, you should definitely stop in for a coffee and a bite at Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre. There’s nothing like a bit of history mixed with a fun atmosphere, healthy dining, and commitment to community.
